What a weekend!

We seems to be having great sunny days during the week and then cloudy, cool and threatening rain on the weekends. Why must it be like that? Aargh. I am hoping to have a photo session with two girls this Sunday and so please Rain, come again another day. Just managed to process two pics from a week ago when my son was off from school (Pro-D days – every parents’ favourites – nah!). He didn’t want to go out and played with his birthday present, a CSI kit. Guess his sister’s teddy bear has to be sacrificied. :) img_0693-01.jpgimg_0695-01.jpg

Notice that the crime scene banner has french version on it. :)

On Sunday, we went to Saige’s birthday party. Her mom had it done ala Hawaiian complete with slush drinks with mini umbrellas, pina coladas for the parents (and later, Starbucks Verona coffee was added), tons of tropical fruits and carb filling food. One of the guests brought these cute twin brothers and they have the most gorgeous eyes and hair. I gave their mom my card and hope she will call me to do a session. It’s almost bad on my part in giving my cards to other guests at someone else’s party but these twins are just gorgeous. Their parents told me they won some cute baby contest. Whoa!

Anyway, back to the party. Saige’s mom hired this troupe of hula dancers. At first, I thought it was not going to be good but the first dancer blew me away with her motion and expression. The coach had 10 of her students with different costumes and about 6-7 different dances. Poor girls had to bear with the cool weather but it was a great highlight. Most of the younger boys were bored with the performance though. Now come the part where I will tell you that I didn’t bring my camera even though I knew there was going to be hula dancers. I always debate if I should bring my camera along to any function but now I just follow a simple rule. If I am in charge of my two kiddos myself, I won’t. I don’t have a small compact P&S camera anymore. I dropped a less-than-a-year-old camera a couple of months ago and I never bother to buy another. It’s hard to photograph other people or things when you are wondering where or what your kids are up to in someone’s house. Megan loves the grass skirt and fake laiĀ  and she wore them home. She was posing for daddy when I managed to squeeze my camera for some shots.
